Trios Group 2016
SPIE acquire Triosgroup, a long-term provider of facility and property related services based in Birmingham. With a strong presence across the heart of the UK, Triosgroup will enhance SPIE UK’s Technical Facility Management division.
Environmental Engineering 2016
SPIE acquires Environmental Engineering Ltd (“EE”) in the United Kingdom, thus strengthening its presence in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors.
MSS Clean Technology Ltd, a subsidiary of EE, was also acquired. MSS specialises in the design, installation and commissioning of clean technology systems for laboratories and other controlled environments within the pharmaceutical and related sectors.
Leven Energy Services 2015
SPIE acquires Leven Energy Services, an independent utilities contractor supporting Distribution Network Operators, and expands it's share of the UK Distribution and Transmission market, signifies its entry into the Gas, Water and Substation sector, and makes it one of the largest woodpole distribution service providers in the UK by both volume and resource.
SPIE Scotshield 2014
SPIE acquire Scotshield Fire and Security which enables entry into a new market, one that demonstrates natural affiliations with its existing portfolio of services.
Established in Scotland, in 1998, Scotshield is a leading provider of fire detection, security alarms, access control and closed circuit television systems. Its service offering includes design, supply, installation, integration, service to maintenance with long-term maintenance and framework contracts.
SPIE ENS 2013
SPIE acquires Electricity Network Solutions which become part of the Industrial Services division to further advance plans to expand the geographical footprint in the UK and provide entry into an exciting new sector.
As one of the leading companies in this highly specialised field, SPIE ENS builds and refurbishes overhead electrical lines for the owners of distribution and transmission networks including Electricity North West, Northern Ireland Electricity, Scottish Power, UK Power Networks and Western Power Distribution.
SPIE Alard 2013
Alard Electrical Ltd join SPIE to enhance the building services business by providing additional technical expertise and innovation to electrical design and build projects.
Established in 1984, Alard is a fully accredited Electrical Engineering Contractor operating in key industrial, commercial, educational and retail sectors for Blue Chip companies. With over 26 years’ experience Alard has enjoyed continuous growth through delivering high quality work, safely and competitively. With prestigious clients including the Manchester United Football Club, ALDI Stores, United Biscuits and Mersey Docks, Alard specialises in TEGG testing, which allows the company to test live equipment using harmonics, sound and thermal imaging.
HOCHTIEF GmbH UK 2013
SPIE Group purchase Hochtief Solutions AG in mainland Europe and shortly after integrate the UK arm of the business into the SPIE UK Facilities Services organisation.
This new addition to SPIE UK operates from headquarters in Warrington, Cheshire, and employs over 900 staff across 65 sites with customers including 3M, Kellogg’s and Baxter Healthcare.
SPIE GarsideLaycock 2012
SPIE acquires the highly accredited Building Construction and Maintenance Company GarsideLaycock.
GarsideLaycock was established in 1980, is located in Preston with branches in Leeds and Sheffield, providing a comprehensive service throughout the North of England.
New Shareholders 2011
SPIE's shareholders change from PAI Partners to an investment fund group led by Clayton Dubilier & Rice in association with AXA Private Equity and La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
SPIE WHS 2009
SPIE consolidates its presence in the UK with the purchase of WHS, a company specialising in infrastructure, oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation installations, emphasising the diversity and expansion of SPIE Matthew Hall and its focus.
SPIE Matthew Hall 2007
SPIE acquires AMEC Group's Building and Facilities Services business.
The Matthew Hall business dates back to 1848 and has been a major force in the UK construction sector ever since. By the time the Matthew Hall Group merged with AMEC in 1988 it comprised more than 40 companies operating world-wide in the USA, Australia, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
