What better way to support Mental Health Awareness week than by announcing the roll out of SPIE UK’s Senior Management Mental Health First Aid two-day course.
Considering the significant lifestyle and workplace changes employees have experienced due to the Coronavirus global pandemic, SPIE UK recognises that the mental health of our people is more important than ever. That is why equipping our senior management team with the knowledge and understanding of mental health and how to identify the associated signs and symptoms will mean we can offer support when needed.
This training programme not only demonstrates our commitment to the mental wellbeing of our people, but is also about us working towards removing the stigma and discrimination of poor mental health.
HSEQ/OHH Business Partner at SPIE Sandra Green
We have already delivered this training, including our one-day Mental Health Champion programme, to around 70 employees and clients and will continue to offer this to them as and when required. Subsequently, the training will continue to be rolled out to other SPIE employees once our senior managers have completed the course. Notably, staff at various levels should be able to provide support to their teams and colleagues as necessary.
Sandra Green, HSEQ/OHH Business Partner at SPIE, said: "This training programme not only demonstrates our commitment to the mental wellbeing of our people, but is also about us working towards removing the stigma and discrimination of poor mental health. This will allow anyone who may be experiencing poor mental health to speak out and ask for help and for others to be able to offer support with compassion and without judgment."
