SPIE Create BIM Model for University of Manchester Controlled Environment Suite

Build & Connect news

Posted by SPIE UK

SPIE was commissioned to create a BIM level 2 Building Information Model for the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD) third floor textiles research and testing controlled environment suite at The University of Manchester.

SPIE’s unique model incorporated all third party and client direct models in order for us to coordinate all the necessary building services around existing ones.

The controlled environment suite consists of a teaching room, research lab and entrance lobby, all of which require temperature and humidity to be closely controlled and their environmental parameters logged to ensure compliance with the textile testing protocols.

This is a great example of our expertise in the efficient delivery of controlled environments through the integration and use of BIM. If you want to find out more about how we could help you then visit our dedicated critically controlled environments page.
