November 31st marked the 2019 World Cities Day, a day created to promote the international community's interest in creating sustainable urban environments for people to live and work in.
This year's theme for the event was Innovations and Better Life for Future Generations. Often when we think of innovation, we consider technology first. However, building urban spaces that are sustainable will require more than technological ability. Flexible and innovative policy and planning that can meet people's demands will be as valuable as innovative technology.
