Driven, in no small part, by the UK government’s stipulation that all public procured buildings must embrace BIM (building information modelling) level 2, the value of BIM to the built environment has been growing as businesses have begun to understand the value that it can add.

The trend towards collaboration is one of the greatest challenges facing the built environment. Making sure that all stakeholders are on the same page is essential to ensuring the smooth delivery of a project to a high level of quality.

The introduction of BIM into the construction and design process requires contractors and consultants to coordinate their activities, placing the responsibility on everyone to work together to ensure designs are translated smoothly into reality.
