Twelve London schools were selected to benefit from the Olympic Retrofit Project, funded by the Olympic Delivery Authority and project managed by the Greater London Authority as part of its RE:FIT programme.
The RE:FIT programme is designed to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve substantial reductions in schools’ annual fuel bills by installing energy saving measures.
SPIE was commissioned by EDF Energy to install energy conservation measures into the school buildings. These included:
As a result of these measures, EDF has guaranteed energy savings for the project over a payback period of five years.
