Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution Framework Agreement

Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution Framework Agreement

London, UK – 29 March 2016

SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services, is proud to announce the award of a dual three-year framework with Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD).

As part of the contract, SPIE UK’s newly formed Distribution & Transmission business, an amalgamation of SPIE ENS and the recently acquired Leven Energy Services, will deliver a range of overhead line services as part of SSEPD’s business plan supporting Ofgem’s RIIO – ED1* price control. Activities will include the construction, dismantling and maintenance of overhead lines up to 33kV along with the provision of critical emergency cover.

Alongside the recent and controlled expansion, this SSEPD award establishes SPIE as the largest provider of distribution overhead line services in the UK. SPIE’s portfolio now includes overhead line frameworks with Scottish Power Energy Networks, Electricity North West and Northern Ireland Electricity.

SPIE UK’s Managing Director for Industrial Services, Steven Nanda said, “This award is fantastic news and all credit to our team, Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution has been a valued customer over the last 2 years and it is very encouraging to have our hard work and effort recognised in such a manner. We are looking forward to the opportunity of expanding our Southern operations and establishing a new depot in the North of Scotland.

“Through innovation and continual improvement, output will be focused on safety, customer service and efficiency along with dedicated investment in our training school supporting the recruitment of locally based overhead line apprenticeships.”

Stuart Hogarth, Director of Customer Operations at Southern Electric Power Distribution, said that the company is looking forward to working with SPIE: “We are committed to keeping the lights on for our customers 24/7, and to do this we need to make sure our network is fitted with the best equipment available. Having worked with Leven over the past two years, we are looking forward to building on this already successful business relationship with SPIE.”
