SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services, has been awarded an £80M, four-year contract with Scottish Power Energy Networks.
The newly created Distribution & Transmission business, an amalgamation of the recently acquired Leven Energy Services and SPIE ENS,will deliver a range of overhead line services as part of Scottish Power Energy Networks RIIO – ED1* business plan.
SPIE’s wide range of responsibilities on the overhead line distribution network (up to 33kV) includes Extra High Voltage (EHV) / High Voltage (HV) rebuilds, EHV/HV refurbishment, Low Voltage modernisation, ESQCR (Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations)hazard clearance, customer connections, and emergency storm response works.
SPIE will deliver work across Scotland as part of the project, including the Dumfries and Stranraer, Central and Fife, Edinburgh and the Borders regions. Delivering up to £20 million per annum over the next four years, there is the added potential to extend the partnership for a further four years.
