Prenton High School

SPIE has managed various projects for Prenton High School for girls based on the Wirral in North West England, including the refurbishment of their main hall and more recently, the Staff Room and forming a new photography suite, in addition to the conversion of a small room into an IT suite.

Having identified the need to refurbish their Staff Room in 2019, the school was keen to create a different space, that was not only functional but desirable, in the style of a high street coffee shop.

Following various user engagement sessions with the senior leadership team, SPIE wasted no time in producing concept proposals in order to deliver the work promptly and efficiently. These were testament to the exceptional delivery of a stunning Staff Room that was fit for purpose, now and for the future, incorporating a staff welfare space, IT hub and informal meeting area.

Our management expertise was fundamental in achieving this and delivering the project to the highest standard, including resource allocation, design, installation and handover; all on budget and on time.

Subsequently in early 2020, the requirement for a dedicated photography studio to support the school’s curriculum needs was identified. In turn, it was decided that a former back of house area to the main hall would be converted to accommodate this and SPIE’s team set to engage their in-house design experts prior to initiating the project. 

To ensure these works were delivered within a tight 4-week time period, SPIE carried out user engagement sessions involving the school’s SLT and curriculum lead to establish the exact look and feel of the proposed facility. 

Following School Governor approval, SPIE delivered a high-quality refurbishment in the form of a professional photography studio within a classroom environment incorporating the latest technology, demountable photo zone and permanent display area. 

As the school was running normally, ensuring minimal disruption was key, enabling all school users to continue their day-to-day activities effectively.  

Furthermore, the relationships that SPIE has developed with contractors are pivotal in delivering these types of schemes and allows the customer to instil full confidence in SPIE’s project management capability and experience.
