Health and Safety

SPIE is committed to achieving ‘zero accidents’ across the business and we take this responsibility very seriously. It is of prime importance for us to provide and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for our staff, and to ensure we respect the environment in which we operate.

Trustworthy and safe

Being a trustworthy and safe service provider in all aspects is something upon which we place great value, demonstrating our capabilities to better serve our customers and help them prepare for and work towards a more long-term, sustainable future.

Mental Health

At SPIE we are proud to offer a growing number of support services to our employees that promote and improve good health, whether that be mentally, psychically or both.

Our Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) programme encourages employees to talk more freely about mental health, thus reducing stigma and creating a more positive culture.

The role of a MHFA at SPIE is to be a point of contact for an employee who is experiencing a mental health issue or emotional difficulty. Our MHFAs are not trained therapists or psychiatrists, but they do offer initial support through non-judgmental listening and guidance to ensure the person in distress is directed to the appropriate help from a professional if required.

Award-winning safety standards

The award-winning standards we uphold and adhere to include protecting and supporting our employees and those working with us or affected by our activities, and striving to protect and improve the environment wherever possible, minimising harm. We achieve this by implementing and promoting effective health and safety and environmental management systems and working practices.

Continuous improvement

At SPIE we take full responsibility for our operations, performance and decisions while taking a proactive approach to enhancing the quality of our services. By managing risks effectively, we substantiate our continuous commitment to improving our performance and supporting the growth of our company.

Investing in our future

Training and development are fundamental assets and, by ensuring our people attain and share knowledge that enables them to sustain our best practices across the business, we are investing in the future of SPIE.
