SPIE has a long history spanning decades within the UK steel industry, during which time we have assisted our clients to adapt, evolve, and realise site efficiencies at a local and national level in the ever-changing marketplace of steel and ferrous products.
We take pride in our flexible, resourceful, and proactive approach to the just-in-time activities of a modern steel manufacturing facility.
Our core day-to-day activities cover maintenance and site-based project works, although when called upon we can mobilise a skilled labour force in excess of 120 for annual site shutdowns, turnarounds and outages (STO) activities that are essential to the continual running and peak performance of the site.
Our on-site teams have excellent project management skills and are adept at the effective management of STOs and the influx and departures of large teams of operatives during these annual and sometimes biannual outages.
No matter what the location, whether in primary and finishing areas of the process, or around the blast furnaces, coke ovens, mills, or even the arduous environment of the re-heat furnaces, we have a track record of providing the engineering expertise to deliver a valued service year after year.
We can provide you with tailored solutions that integrate our full range of capabilities, extending from engineering assistance to installation and maintenance optimisation.
Our core competences are:
- Instrumentation and electrical services
- Term maintenance
- STO support
- Primary and secondary CE&I design services
- HVAC engineering
- HV distribution system switchgear replacement schemes
